Original Khojo Papers practice question — not from a past board paper.
The Indian National Army was formed from Indian prisoners of war and expatriate Indians in South-East Asia, first by Mohan Singh and then reorganised by Subhas Chandra Bose in 1943, to fight for India's freedom with Japanese help. Though it did not win militarily, the trial of its officers at the Red Fort in 1945-46 roused enormous public sympathy and unrest, including a mutiny in the Royal Indian Navy, and convinced the British that they could no longer rely on Indian forces.
