What is crossing over, when does it occur and why does it matter?
Cell Cycle and Cell Division
Original Khojo Papers practice question — not from a past board paper.
In an animal cell cytokinesis occurs by a furrow that appears in the plasma membrane and deepens until it divides the cell in two. In a plant cell the rigid wall prevents furrowing, so a cell plate forms in the middle and grows outwards until it joins the existing wall.
No citable source has been recorded for this record. Treat it as practice material, not as fact.
Some cells undergo karyokinesis without cytokinesis, giving a multinucleate cell.
