Original Khojo Papers practice question — not from a past board paper.
When the blood glucose rises, the beta cells of the islets of Langerhans secrete insulin, which promotes the uptake of glucose by cells and its storage as glycogen, so the level falls. When it falls, the alpha cells secrete glucagon, which converts stored glycogen back into glucose. Adrenaline and cortisol also raise the blood glucose in stress.
