Describe cyclic and non-cyclic photophosphorylation.
Photosynthesis and Respiration in Plants
Original Khojo Papers practice question — not from a past board paper.
In a C3 plant the first stable product is a three-carbon compound, 3-phosphoglyceric acid; in a C4 plant it is a four-carbon compound, oxaloacetic acid. C3 plants have no Kranz anatomy while C4 plants do. C3 plants photorespire heavily and are less efficient at high temperature; C4 plants have almost no photorespiration and are better adapted to hot, dry conditions.
No citable source has been recorded for this record. Treat it as practice material, not as fact.
Rice and wheat are C3 plants; maize and sugarcane are C4.
